The readings take place the second Sunday of each month at
The Venus Theatre Play Shack.  21 C Street Laurel, MD  20707

Using minimal staging and props Venus Theatre artists aim to highlight the scripts themselves and
provide a forum for useful feedback and conversation surrounding each text.  The reading is organized
on a volunteer basis and while the playwright’s presence is greatly encouraged Venus cannot offer
compensation for travel expenses.

Venus Theatre’s mission is “setting flight to the voices of women.”  Our aim in choosing scripts for the
wRighting Women series is to be as inclusive as possible, welcoming texts written by both women and
men as long as they deal centrally with the mission at Venus’ core.
