runs parallel to a lovely riverfront park and this is a great spot to picnic. You can access it by going one block behind the theatre onto Avondale and making a right. You can call ahead to the Meat Market on Main if you'd like or swing by Harris Teeter in Maplelawn if you are coming from the Olney/Burtonsville direction for more of a gourmet experience.

This just in...SALUTE is now open on Main! It's right beside the Laurel Mill Playhouse on the West End of Main. Bring your own bottle of wine and drop in for a bite there. Tell Miriem Deb sent you. Then, come down Main to the East side and left on C.

Tampico, the Sports Bar, Tastee Diner, and Red, Hot, and Blue , are all walkable from the Venus Theatre Play Shack, or very quick drives.
From the South (DC)
Sakura is always a lovely dining experience and you can go sushi or Japanese Steak House. Route One is loaded with every chain restaurant you can imagine. I must recommend Silver Diner because that's where I worked my way through college. The chef Ype is always up to some kind of gastronominal delight. And, you can't beat the shakes!
You could also hit CJ Ferrari's or Pasta Plus for Italian. There are some Halal places and there's some great tex-mex. A Laurel classic is Toucan Taco, they've been around since the days of Petrucci's Dinner Theatre.
From the North (Baltimore)
The Bar-B-Que house used to be a favorite before new ownership but now they are open on Sundays! Sunday, a great time to catch the brunch at Ram's Head Tavern in Savage, MD. They always have a jazz trio. And, when the weather is nice, the deck is a great place to hang out. The service is spotty at best. If you make it over to Savage you should check out Bonaparte Bakery. If you are feeling really adventurous and want to do some rock climbing or a little zipline before a show you can go to Terrapin Adventures.
East and West
This is the 198 corridor. To the east, the Ft. Meade side has chain restaurants to choose from such as Panera Bread and Bob Evan's. If you are on that block and enjoy wine, you should check out Corridor Wine. An old Laurel standard is Dave and he runs Casey's Crab House. They added tables at the end of 2010, the floor is concrete and lights are florescent and almost all of the tables are near the lobster tank. Also, they stream Fox News, and sell "Got Crabs?" T's. So, it's not for everyone, but definitely unique. The Kabob House is another unique experience. The food NEVER disappoints but the couple who runs it is sometimes in a dispute. They have Turkish Coffee there.
